Kings Lynn Town  3    Yaxley  2

Saturday, 17 December 2011

Pacesetters Kings Lynn extended their winning sequence to ten games, but found next to bottom Yaxley a tougher nut to crack than expected.

When Danny Beaumont put Lynn in front with a shot into the far corner after just eight minutes the form result looked likely, but Yaxley levelled two minutes later through Lewis Stone's superb free kick.

Stephem Spriggs volleyed against the visiting crossbar from Liam Harrold's flick.

The home crowd were stunned when Jones De Sousa gave the Cuckoos a 52nd minute lead, firing home through a crowded box following a corner.

Parity was restored by Rob Hughes who turned in a rebound after a shot from substitute Ben Coe came back off the post three minutes past the hour.

Lynn won it after 65 minutes through Hughes who converted a cross from the right with the aid of a deflection.

Right at the death the frame of the goal kept out Yaxley substitute Danny Hotchkiss's diving header.
