Boston Town  4    Blackstones  3

Tuesday, 09 November 2010

After three successive defeats without a goal the Poachers fortunes took a turn for the better in a thrilling Tattershall Road encounter.

Teenager Josh Foreman gave Boston a twelfth minute lead, heading in a Lawrence Lambley cross and they looked home and hosed by the half hour as further goals from Alex Beck who cut in from the left to score from 18 yards after 20 minutes and Lambley who reacted first to tap in after ally McAnally tipped a beck effort onto the bar after 28 extended the margin to three.

With four unbeaten matches behind them Stones were in no mood to throw in the towel with a 43rd minute Danny Barker goal giving them something to build on, the midfielder running from the halfway line and firing home from 20 yards.

After the interval the visiting fightback continued with Ben Porter netting after 53 minutes from a Robbie Pearce cross and again after 61 minutes to square the match.

A series of fine saves by home keeper James Doughty prevented the visitors from taking the lead, with Addie Staffieri twice coming off second best in one on ones.

With a minute to play Adam Jackson provided the sting in the tail with the Boston winner, beating Stones co-boss Michael Goode in the air to turn in a long ball from Nathan Stainfield.
