Irchester United  1    Sleaford Town  0

Saturday, 28 August 2010

This match was overshadowed by an injury to visiting player Adam Weston which caused a lengthy delay to proceedings.

The Romans had much the better of the opening half but could only score once, Michael Chong netting the vital goal scrambling home a cormer ten minutes before the break.

Both goalkeepers made some good saves during the contest, with Tom Cross denying Lee Llewellyn a late equaliser with the best stop of the match.

A third successive win lifted Irchester into the top five.
