St Neots Town  0    St Ives Town  0

Saturday, 13 March 2010

The highest crowd of the season so far saw St Neots lose ground in the title race.

A match high in quality and excitement had everything but goals.

St Neots had the better openings in this derby contest but were unable to make the breakthrough against their local rivals, and slipped a point behind title rivals Daventry Town.

Liam Harrold was closest to a first half goal, shooting against the post after his initial effort was blocked.

Nicky Hurst cleared off the line from Adam Jones early in the second half, while in the dying seconds Jon Mitchell set up Dan Jacob who crashed the ball against the crossbar from a narrow angle.

St Neots: Luke McShane, Matty Haniver, Michael Hyem, Lewis Webb, Glen Fuff, Adam Jones, Tony Scully (James Peagram (Jon Mitchell)), Rob Hughes, Liam Harrold (Shane Wyllie), Dan Jacob, Dan French.

St Ives: Rob Mackney, Tim Quy, Dan Newman, Nicky Hurst, Will Fordham, Ricky Dear, Dan Moyes (Carl Foreman), Matt Bannister, Conor Washington (Lawrence Church), Ozie Foster, Declan Rogers.
