F.A. Vase
Round 4

Long Buckby  3    Epsom & Ewell  2

Saturday, 16 January 2010

Returning manager Glenn Botterill kicked off with a win as Buckby made club history by reaching the last sixteen of the Vase for the first time.

Carl Hough put Epsom in front with a ninth minute penalty awarded for a foul by Ollie Wilkinson, but Dan Holman levelled for the Bucks on 16 minutes, heading in Craig Kelly's centre.

Josh Urquhart scrambled the ball home for Buckby only to be ruled offside, but Fazel Koriya put the home side in front two minutes before the interval, sidefooting home Ben Foster's cross after a left wing build up involving Greg Ling.

Holman's second from Koriya's left wing cross after 57 minutes gave Buckby a two goal cushion.

They needed it too with Robbie Burns keeping Epsom in the contest with a 75th minute effort after Richard Bunting's back pass eluded goalkeeper Ollie Urquhart.

Long Buckby: Ollie Urquhart, Ollie Wilkinson (Jerry Moss), Craig Kelly, Mark Hewitt, Josh Urquhart, Dan Quigley, Fazrl Koriya, Richard Bunting, Dan Holman, Ben Foster, Greg Ling (Ryan Nash).
