Daventry United  2    Yaxley  1

Saturday, 05 September 2009

Improving United completed an eight day double over the Cuckoos with this Royal Oak Way success, their third successive Premier win.

Two first half goals did the trick for the Motormen. Brad Harris opened the scoring after nine minutes, latching onto a poor clearance and curling a shot into the bottom corner, with Ally Keay adding a second on the half hour mark, tappin in Tom Liversedge's cross at the back post..

Yaxley replied through Ondre Odain who converted a Richard Challinor cross after 49 minutes and the visitors went on to boss the half.

United defended well though and almost snatched a late third themselves when Joel Young clipped the crossbar.
