The Eagles won all three meetings of the clubs in 2008-09, but Stones sprang a surprise at Roker to leave the Eagles' 100% record in tatters.

Adam Scotcher's 35th minute goal, a far post header, had Blackstones ahead at the interval, and a Richard Thompson brace sealed victory in the second half.

Thompson scored his first goal after seventy minutes to complete a left wing build up and he rounded off the scoring with a penalty four minutes from the end following a foul on Mark Jones.

A goalline clearance denied Jez McMurrough a late Stotfold consolation.

Visiting keeper Ian Flavell made a series of fine saves to shut out the Eagles attack, including stops from Louis Taylor, Callum Donnelly and Ryan Aldrin with the game goalless.
