Division One
Eynesbury Rovers 1 Huntingdon Town 1
Saturday, 07 November 2009
This Huntingdonshire derby ended with honours even at Hall Road.
in the first half Joe Jordan clipped the top of the visiting crossbar direct from a corner, while Huntingdon keeper Dave Beeny conceded a penalty after 23 minutes, bringing down Jordan, but escaped with a yellow card and Darren Woodend's spot kick bounced to safety off the post.
After the break Lee Booker rescued Rovers with a timely clearance after Chris Brown rounded Ben Houseago.
Dwayne Rankin, one of nine former Eynesbury players in the visiting line up, gave Town the lead after 58 minutes with a shot which Houseago got a hand to but could not keep out.
Rovers salvaged a point with an equaliser from Ricky Taylor seven minutes from time, the substitute scoring from just outside the box after Beeny had parried from Ian Dawkes.
Late on Beeny received a second yellow card and the home side also finished a man down as Booker was dismissed for a foul.
