Skipper Daniel Kitching's stoppage time penalty lifted Desborough off the foot of the table.

The first chance fell to Sleaford's Dan Reidy, but his header from Simon Bolland's cross was straight at Desboroughb keeper Tom Smith.

After 34 minutes Desborough were awarded a penalty for a foul on Danny Rogers by Josh Giles, but new recruit Rogers rolled his spot kick wide.

Michael Boyle-Chong opened up the home defence but his long range shot was well fielded by Andrew Scott in the home goal.

Sleaford went ahead after 42 minutes, with good work by Miles Hunter setting up Gary Walters to fire into the roof of the net.

Desborough's attempts to play passing football had little effect and the more direct football of the home side saw Sleaford have the bulk of the chances.

Hunter could only shoot into the side netting after rounding Smith and Reidy volleyed against the crossbar from a Walters corner.

Smith kept Desborough in the hunt with a five save from a well struck Ryan Oliver volley and the visiting keeper then went full length to turn away a Hunter snap shot.

Four minutes into stoppage time a push by Temi Ajimoko on Darren Wheeler saw Desborough awarded a second penalty which was confidently converted by Kitching.
