Northampton Sileby Rangers  4    Eynesbury Rovers  4

Saturday, 31 October 2009

Improving Sileby and high riding Eynesbury produced a thrilling encounter at Fernie Fields.

Nick Worley put Sileby in front four minutes before the half hour, scoring from a tight angle after Ian Dawkes lost possession but Barry Albone levelled for Rovers eight minutes before the break, heading in a Joe Jordan cross.

Adam Boothby put Eynesbury in front in the dying seconds of the first half., firing home a low shot from a Neil Morris pass

Craig Heard equalised with a shot from the edge of the box three minutes into the second half but when Jordan added a 53rd minute third for Eynesbury with a great strike from Scott Kingsbury's crossfield pass they looked set for a fifth Fernie Fields success in six seasons.

Sileby had other ideas though. Worley's second goal after 67 minutes, after his first shot was blocked, squared the game and seven minutes later Phil Murphy put Rangers in front with an 18 yard drive which went in off the post.

Adam Robson salvaged a point for Eynesbury with a close range finish a minute into added time.

The visitors finished with ten men after Boothby was red carded in stoppage time for foul and abusive language.
