Division One

Peterborough Northern Star  1    Thrapston Town  1

Saturday, 29 August 2009

This point was enough to keep Star on top of Division One but they will view it as two points lost after conceding an equaliser deep into added time.

When Chris Garwell put the home side in front after seventy minutes from the penalty spot following a foul on Ryan Francis, they looked set to extend their winning run to three matches, but instead substitute Clive Collyer's 94th minute header from a right wing cross kept Thrapston's unbeaten record intact despite Eddie Patten's attempts to clear off the line.

Star were left to reflect on openings squandered by Garwell, Mark Baines and Mark Kingston.
