Holbeach United  3    Stotfold  1

Saturday, 10 October 2009

Holbeach extended their unbeaten run in the league to six games with this victory.

Top scorer Liam Nimmo gave the Tigers the lead in the final minute of the first half following Craig Parker's long throw.

Alex Beck doubled the home advantage after 62 minutes, firing home after Lewis Cook's effort was blocked.

The Eagles had Michael Payne dismissed for a second caution but George Brinkman kept Stotfold in the match with a 73rd minute reply, a lob from Leon Gutzmore's pass.

James Doughty brought down Brinkman but redeemed himself with the penalty save from Josh Bickerstaff to deny the Eagles an 80th minute leveller and two minutes later Pete Sutton clinched the points for the Tigers, rounding off a move involving Nimmo and Parker.
