Saturday, 10 October 2009

Irchester outlined their own title credentials as they ended Eynesbury's six match unbeaten start to the season.

Irchester had a penalty shout for handball turned down while at the other end Neil Morris was ruled offside after netting the rebound from Adam Robson's shot against the post.

Paul Caswell gave the Romans the lead three minutes past the half hour mark, turning in Nicki Young's cross at the near post.

The same player extended Irchester's advantage with his seventh goal of the season after 57 minutes, Young again the provider and when Young added a third for the home side ten minutes later to complete a nine pass move the outcome was all but assured.

Eynesbury scored a last minute consolation through substitute Scott Kingsbury's exquisite chip from the corner of the penalty area.
