Newport completed a double over the Doughboys as they climbed into the Premier Division top three.

Rob Macdonald gave the Swans the lead after 28 minutes, picking up a clearance on the edge of the box and volleying into the net, with Darren Lynch adding a second goal for the home side eight minutes later, heading in a pin point cross.

The unmarked James Daldy scored a 46th minute Wellingborough reply but their comeback hopes were extinguished by Lynch's 25th goal of the campaign after 69 minutes, the striker winning a challenge with a defender before firing home.
