St Ives Town  1    Desborough Town  0

Saturday, 14 March 2009

With a heavy fixture backlog St Ives are outsiders in the championship race, but they are hanging in there and extended their unbeaten run to ten games with this narrow Westwood Road success.

An eighth minute Jamie Blackwell goal, a volley from a Jason King cross, proved sufficient for the Saints to overcome Desborough who are now without a win in six outings.

Ar Tarn went close after the interval with home keeper Rob Mackney tipping over a Jamie Gilsenan free kick and defender Mark Burrows having a header blocked on the line.
