Daventry kept up their challenge for Premier Division honours with an emphatic win over third from bottom Bourne.

Veteran striker Kevin Slinn has been given a new lease of life by his move to Communications Park. Headed goals after ten and thirteen minutes took his Town tally to five in just three starts for the club with full backs Tom James and Dan Burke the respective providers.

Aaron Ridout was denied by the crossbar when Bourne replied.

Danny Nelson scored the home side's third goal after 69 minutes, heading in Andy Gordon's cross with Daniel Gibson completing the scoring with a speedy counter in the final minute of the contest.

There was still time for a foul on Josh O'Grady to give Slinn the chance to complete a hat trick, but both his penalty and follow up were saved by Wakes keeper James Lambley.

Bourne did have a couple of chances themselves in the second half with Daniel Bent and Tom Siddons going close.
