Basement boys Potton suffered another defeat as the Cuckoos avenged an early season Knockout Cup drubbing by the Royals with a first league win in six.

Daniel Drane was the home matchwinner, firing Yaxley ahead after 17 minutes after springing the offside trap and sealing their success a minute past the hour mark.

Ricky Hailstone had the ball in the visiting net only to be flagged offside while Potton went close through Chris Stanton, Simon Desborough and Jeremy McMurrough.
