The Badgers suffered a first defeat in nine games as the Lankies notched up a second successive victory.

The visitors took a 34th minute lead at Haydon Road through Shaun Daly's free kick which deflected off the defensive wall, but the home side were on terms in the dying seconds of the first half, Steve Ainge the marksman after a five man move.

Matt Pinnock gave Rushden & Higham a 67th minute lead from the penalty spot after Matt Collins was brought down.

The Badgers were reduced to ten men by Adam Godfrey's red card and the Lankies sealed victory nine minutes later as top scorer Collins killed off the Bugbrooke challenge after intercepting a wayward pass.
