Newport preserved their unbeaten league start, but this draw was enough to knock them off the top of the table.

Scott Marshall gave the Millers the lead after 21 minutes, netting at the second attempt after James Howarth saved his first effort. Peter Rowe's 32nd minute reply after a mazy solo run earned the Swans their point.

Rowe had other chances in a second half which saw Newport look the more dangerous while Spencer had the edge in possession.
