Saturday, 25 August 2007

Stotfold moved to the top of the Premier Division with this win over the reigning champions whose tally of defeats after three games is just one short of last season's total of three reverses.

Paul Garrett gave the Eagles the lead after 20 minutes, converting Joel Mason's cross from the right, but returning skipper Lee Ellison levelled for Deeping nine minutes later from the penalty spot after Stotfold keeper Brad Gillham brought down David Cobb.

The decisive goal arrived seven minutes before the break, Lee Allinson's 20 yard solo effort winning the contest for Stotfold.
