After conceding 16 goals in three games the Wakes will be much the happier with this derby draw at the Abbey Lawn. The point moved Bourne out of the relegation places.

Deeping's lack of confidence was evident as they squandered a host of chances while Wakes goalkeeper Ben Derbyshire distinguished himself with a series of fine saves to thwart Danny Matson, Mark Kingston and David Cobb.

Cobb was closest to breaking the deadlock five minutes from half time, but hit the bar from close range.

Bourne struggled to create openings but could have won it a quarter of an hour from time when Robbie Pearce raced onto an underhit back pass from Scott Woods, only for Danny Bircham to save.

Bourne: Ben Derbyshire, Luke Walker, Matt Holland, Jason Gough, Aaron Ridout, Tim Quy, Robbie Pearce, Simon Barrick, Mark Jones, Scott Spearink (Andy Wayte), Nick Hardy (John Currall).

Deeping: Danny Bircham, John Paul Duncliffe, Scott Woods, Michael Stevenson, Matt Porter, Michael Goode, Mark Kingston, Lee Ellison, Sam Bettinson, Danny Matson (Kevin Ward), David Cobb (Andy Ellis).
