St Neots Town  1    Stotfold  2

Tuesday, 25 September 2007

Stotfold survived a sixteen minute period of stoppage time at the end of the game to collect the three points which lifted them to second place in the top flight.

After 20 minutes a Callum Donnelly shot was punched over the home crossbar by Ivan Finch who was red carded, Paul Garrett converting from the spot. Nine minutes later from a Garrett corner the faintest of touches from Joel Mason at the near post doubled the Eagles' lead.

The ten men threw caution to the wind after the break and they were rewarded after 69 minutes when Ashley Deverell's free kick was knocked down by Barrington Belgrave for Ryan Francis to score.

The momentum was with St Neots now and veteran keeper Brad Gillham was forced into superb saves from Francis and John Coley to preserve his side's advantage.
