St Neots Town  2    Newport Pagnell Town  3

Tuesday, 26 February 2008

The Saints' fading promotion prospects are all but at an end after Newport snatched victory deep into stoppage time.

Richard Armstrong gave the Swans the lead a minute before the interval, netting with a low shot after the Saints defence failed to deal with a free kick.

Vinny Shrieves doubled their lead four minutes before the hour mark, punishing a handling error by debutant keeper Michael Parkin, but three minutes later the new custodian atoned for his error by saving Armstrong's spot kick following a foul on Swans substitute Jordan Spruce.

Barrington Belgrave gave St Neots hope when he muscled his way past two defenders to score with twenty minutes remaining and he scored his second after 89 minutes to level the scores, converting a chipped pass from substitute Ben Cole.

Four minutes into time added on Shrieves, looking well offside, scored his second goal to win the contest for Newport.
