Blackstones  3    St Ives Town  1

Tuesday, 12 February 2008

Stones proved too strong for FA Vase heroes St Ives at Lincoln Road, repeating their earlier league defeat of the Saints.

Phil Stebbing opened the scoring for Stones on the half hour, battling to win possession in the opposition box to fire into the roof of the net, with Liam Harrold adding a second three minutes before the interval, turning in a Richard Jones following a corner.

Harrold's second of the night after 54 minutes, a glancing header from an Andy Lodge free kick, all but sealed the home side's success with Dan Moyes scoring a consolation for St Ives from a Carl Foreman cross twenty minutes from time.

Late on Stebbing and St Ives keeper Rob Mackney were dismissed following a flare up.
