The Badgers sprang one of the surprises of the day as a single goal proved enough to send Whitworths crashing to a first defeat under Kevin Fox's management.

Dave Weedon's goal ten minutes before half time proved sufficient to settle the contest in Bugbrooke's favour and give them only their second win in eleven matches.
