Division One

Thrapston Town  0    Daventry Town  2

Saturday, 09 February 2008

Daventry took another big step towards the Division One championship with this victory at Chancery Lane.

As early as the fourth minute it needed a goalline clearance to deny Danny Finlay an opening goal for the tabletoppers.

Thrapston's cause was hardly helped by the dismissal of Sam Duxbury after just ten minutes, but it took thirty five minutes for Daventry to take the lead through Paul Saunders who converted Adam Confue's centre.

Richard Wesley's 17th goal of the season eleven minutes from time, set up by a Saunders flick, sealed Daventry's eighteenth successive win.

Thrapston: John Kyte, Jack Petty, Paul Byers, Lee Purser, Craig Ferguson, Matt Harris, Sam Duxbury, Glenroy Bell (Jack Wisniewski), Mark Redding, Chris Jones, Ben Morgan (Jake Wesby).

Daventry: Joe Mellings, Luke Walker, Tom James, Chris Godwin, Ady Greatrex, Paul Saunders (Josh O'Grady), Ryan Byrne, Adam Confue (Paul Atkins), Tom Berwick, Danny Finlay (Amrit Sidhu), Richard Wesley.
