F.A. Vase
Round 4

St Ives Town  3    Bitton  2

Saturday, 26 January 2008

St Ives'  team spirit and character was again in evidence as they overturned a two goal deficit to move into the last 16 of the FA Vase.

Former QPR player Michael Meaker gave Bitton the lead after ten minutes and the Western League side looked set to progress when Dave Bailey doubled their advantage after 23 minutes.

Graeme Thackray reduced the deficit after 29 minutes but as time ticked away the Saints looked set for an exit until Liam Kennett levelled after 89 minutes, slotting home after beating four men in a solo run.

The turnaround was completed in extra time and Scott Fielding's 99th minute volley from a Kennett cross booked a 5th Round date with Needham Market.
