Northampton Spencer needed two goals in the final quarter of an hour to stay unbeaten after Stewarts & Lloyds threatened a Kingsthorpe Mill upset.
Mark Wood gave the visitors the lead after 16 minutes with a low shot into the corner and a minute before the break Paul Doherty doubled the lead, converting a right wing cross.
Richard Lavin in the S&L goal made a series of fine saves to keep the Millers at bay.
Karl Bates gave Spencer a glimmer of hope, reducing the arrears after 76 minutes from Scott Marshall's through ball, and Chris Davies snatched a point in the final minute with a shot from the left hich went through a crowd of players.
