Division One

Peterborough Northern Star  1    Thrapston Town  2

Wednesday, 26 December 2007

Thrapston extended their winning run to five games with this impressive success at Chestnut Avenue and they are emerging as candidates for promotion after their fine sequence of results.

Glenroy Bell gave Thrapston the lead after seven minutes with a free header from a corner and leading scorer Ben Morgan extended the visiting advantage after 21 minutes after Marcin Lubniewski turned a shot against the crossbar.

Following a foul on substitute Adam Scotcher in form marksman Karl Gibbs reduced the arrears from the penalty spot with six minutes remaining but it was too late for Star to salvage some reward from the contest.

Star: Marcin Lubniewski, Phil Anderson, Phil Groves (Adam Scotcher), Eddie Patten, John Patten, Chris Plummer, Darren Bradley (Nathan Horne), Scott Quinney, Gary Gibbs, Karl Gibbs, Wayne Morris (Mohammed Sohail).
