Wellingborough Town 2004  2    Long Buckby  2

Tuesday, 14 August 2007

Long Buckby snatched a point a minute from time with Ben Foster's second goal of the night denying the Doughboys victory.

Wellingborough took the lead a quarter of an hour in through defender Tim Wooding's 25 yard free kick, and nine minutes before the break they doubled their lead through Rob Gould who headed in another Wooding free kick at the near post.

Foster started the Buckby fightback three minutes past the hour, scoring from close range after Ryan Nash, Kevin Slinn and Carl Holmes were involved in the build up. The former Spencer striker's pace enabled him to lose his marker to fire the point saver in the closing stages.

Wellingborough: John Hughes, Tim Wooding, James Lister (Mark Hewitt), Matt Green (Scott Goodwin), Luke Dowling, Rob Gould, Alfie Taylor, Jed Ainge, Richard Thmpson (David Glass), Jon Mitchell, Mike Sneddon.
