Bourne Town  2    Boston Town  1

Tuesday, 27 November 2007

Leaders Boston were on the wrong end of an upset as the Wakes produced one of the shocks of the season.

New recruit Ian Cooper's  35th minute spot kick, awarded after he was fouled by Neal Spafford, had Bourne in front at the interval but they were pegged back by Paul Goodhand's 57th minute leveller, scored at the second attempt after his initial shot was blocked by a defender.

Debutant keeper Aaron Bellairs saved Gary Bull's penalty, awarded for Robbie Pearce's foul on the veteran striker, to keep the Wakes on terms and Cooper won the game for Bourne in the last minute with a shot from the edge of the box after good work by substitute Scott Spearink.

Bourne: Aaron Bellairs, Mark Walklin, Matt Holland, Tim Carter, Aaron Ridout, Billy Sparks (Ian Ling), Owen Smith, Steve Hipkiss, Liam Palmer (Scott Spearink), Ian Cooper, Robbie Pearce (John Currall)

Boston: Bart Griemink, Liam Parker (Nick Lovelace), Neal Spafford, Ross Don-Duncan, Shaun Baker, Nathan Collins, Mark Foster, Paul Goodhand, Danny Steadman, Gary Bull, Laszlo Lovas.
