Saturday, 24 November 2007

Rampant Daventry recovered from the shock of conceding a first minute goal to record another emphatic victory.

Steve Foster's ten second opener had the Nurserymen ahead for thirty seven minutes but the home side's strong finish to the first half turned the contest. Paul Atkins levelled on 38 minutes, scoring at the second attempt after his first shot was blocked on the line and top scorer Tom Berwick gave Town the lead from 15 yards six minutes later. On the stroke of half time Berwick netted his own second, a chip from an acute angle.

There was no let up by Daventry on resumption with Josh O'Grady joining the spree after 47 minutes with a shot off the post and Berwick taking his goal total for the season to thirteen with his hat trick goal after 55 minutes, a left footed shot which rounded off a flowing move.

Paul Munday scored an 80th minute consolation for the Nurserymen before O'Grady scored his second and Daventry's sixth after 88 minutes.
