Deeping Rangers  0    St Neots Town  3

Saturday, 27 October 2007

Premier Division leaders St Neots outlined their title credentials with an impressive win at reigning champions Deeping.

Lee Howarth and Jon Stead went close for Rangers early on before Mark Barry struck the outside of the post after combining with Barrington Belgrave.

Belgrave gave St Neots a 20th minute lead after Barry and Arin Fehmi combined on the left.

Sam Bettinson and Richard Challinor missed opportunities to level for Deeping before the break, but on resumption it was St Neots who looked the more dangerous side.

Fehmi, Ryan Francis and Ashley Deverellall went close for the visitors while Belgrave had the ball in the home net but was adjudged to have fouled home custodian Danny Bircham.

Veteran campaigner Steve Kuhne came off the bench to make a decisive contribution after 85 minutes, latching on to a Belgrave through ball to round Bircham and slot home.

Francis was denied by the woodwork as St Neots ended the game strongly, but in time added on Belgrave held off Ben Daldy's challenge to score from a narrow angle.
