The Cuckoos produced one of the surprises of the day with this success at high riding S&L.

Dan Fountain gave Yaxley the lead with a header twelve minutes before the break following Mark Paul's quick break and cross, after a series of fine saves from John Feetham kept the home attack at bay but on resumption S&L were quick to respond with a 49th minute header from Bobby Drain.

Mark Paul marked his return to the Cuckoos' starting line up with the decisive goal after 69 minutes, the ace marksman rounding off a flowing move.
