Irchester United  0    Daventry United  7

Saturday, 27 October 2007

The Romans suffered their seventh successive defeat as they found United striker Tommy Waldock in stunning form with a four goal haul.

Tony Burt gave Daventry the lead after 25 minutes, sweeping in an Ollie Stanbridge cross before Waldock scored his first nine minutes later, converting a Michael Parkes pass.

Waldock scored his second goal after 54 minutes with a low shot and completed his hat trick after 70, tapping in after a flowing move.

Lee Reynolds put his name on the scoresheet after 74 minutes after Stanbridge created the opening and with eight minutes left Leigh Roberts made the visitors' tally six with a superbly executed chip over goalkeeper Warren Courtney.

Waldock had the last word rounding the keeper to score United's final goal five minutes before the final whistle.
