A strong first half performance earned champions Sileby their first home success of the season at the expense of Star. Donovan Reed fired Rangers in front after six minutes and they extended their advantage after 20 minutes, Adam Taylor the scorer. Paul Smith made it three six minutes before the break to all but end the match as a contest. Star scored a consolation a minute into injury time at the end of the game through Dave Cowling.
