Division One

Blisworth  1    Irchester United  2

Saturday, 24 September 2005

An excellent victory at Courteenhall Road saw the Romans climb into the top four of Division One. Chris Boniface, signed in midweek from Kempston, gave Irchester the lead on the half hour only for Nick Woodroffe to reply for the Railwaymen five minutes before the interval punishing an error by visiting keeper Ricky Hughes. With Irchester's Damian Grant having a goal chalked off for offside and Grant and Mark Wheeler missing one on ones with home keeper Bob Anderson a draw looked the inevitable outcome until s foul on Boniface saw the Romans awarded a last minute penalty which was converted by Mark Dudley.
