F.A. Vase
1st Qualifying Round
London Colney 4 Eynesbury Rovers 1
Saturday, 17 September 2005
Playing 68 minutes with ten men proved too great an obstacle for Eynesbury to overcome as they made a first hurdle exit. Chris Bingham received his marching orders after 22 minutes after retaliating to a foul, but initially Rovers coped well enough, taking a 42nd minute lead through Stuart Harper, although they had had a let off a couple of minutes before when Colney failed to convert a penalty. A Danny McCafferty equaliser two minutes after the restart rocked Eynesbury and seven minutes later they were trailing as Frankie Joule gave Colney the lead. David Parkinson added a 57th minute third and when Steve Flain made it four after 62 minutes, Rovers' hopes of a Vase run were at an end.
