Minnows Cranfield put up stubborn resistance on their Vase debut before three second half goals put the Millers through. Adam Wigley's 65th minute opener direct from a free kick gave Spencer the initiative and top scorer Darren Frost added two more goals after 86 and 88 minutes, both following penetrative passes from strike partner Scott Coleman. In between Frost's goals Wigley was fouled in the box but saw his penalty saved by keeper Steve Templeman.
