Langford 4 Wootton Blue Cross 4
Tuesday, 14 March 2006
Wootton will meet either holders Potton or Biggleswade United in the final of the North Beds Charity Cup after a shootout win at Forde Park. Blue Cross had much the better of things in the first half. Steve Gentle gave them a 20th minute advantage, and although Rob Groves levelled on the half hour, Wootton responded with a 32nd minute Scott McGregor strike and a third from Ben Chambers five minutes later. Langford fought back after the break and a brace from Lee Allinson after 60 & 78 minutes hauled them on terms. With five minutes to play Darek Jozwiak put Blue Cross back in the lead, only for a last minute Mark Holmes goal to take the tie into extra time. No addition to the score took place in the additional half hour with Wootton running out 4-2 penalty winners. Reserve keeper Daniel Meese was Blue Cross's shootout hero saving two Langford kicks. |
