Saturday, 04 March 2006

Whitworths' three months on top of Division One came to an end as their run without a win extended to a fourth game. All the goal action arrived in the first half with Rob Foster giving the Flourmen a seventh minute advantage. Star levelled through Darren Paling who headed in an Angus Hepburn cross on the half hour and two minutes before the break Paling struck again, converting Scott Quinney's through pass. Matt Freeman squared the contest within 60 seconds and neither side was able to find a decider after the interval. The best chance fell to Freeman late on but he failed to hit the target.
