Yaxley's championship bid suffered a setback as the Swans produced the upset of the day to claim only their second win in ten matches. Martin Kelly gave Newport the lead on the quarter hour and the home side's victory was sealed by two goals in five minutes late on. John Thorpe scored the Swans' second goal after 75 minutes with Kelly wrapping up victory five minutes later.
