Huntingdon sprang the Division One surprise of the day to avenge a home defeat bu the champions in August. The visitors arrived at Fernie Fields without a goal in three league games, but they stunned Rangers by scoring three goals in the opening 17 minutes. Tom Polis gave Huntingdon the lead three minutes in and the lead was doubled by Paul Bass after 16 minutes. Before Sileby could recover Carl Foreman had added a 17th minute third for the visitors. Adam Taylor replied for Rangers after 68 minutes and five minutes from time Paul Bennett cut the deficit further with a second goal for the champions, but it was too little too late for Rangers.
