Long Buckby  2    Wootton Blue Cross  4

Wednesday, 21 December 2005

Three goals in the last quarter of an hour lifted Wootton to eighth place, their highest of the season, and condemned struggling Buckby to another reverse. Nick Worley gave the Bucks a 9th minute lead only for Chris Johnson to equalise five minutes before the interval. Buckby went back in front after 46 minutes with Worley again the marksman. It all went wrong for Buckby though as with fifteen minutes remaining home keeper Steve King could only help a cross from Wootton substitute James Birch into his own net to square the contest and Johnson went on to complete a matchwinning hat trick with goals after 79 and 87 minutes.
