Wellingborough Town 2004  1    Peterborough Northern Star  0

Saturday, 10 December 2005

The Doughboys maintained their unbeaten record with a narrow victory over in form visitors Star. The Peterborough side provided stern resistance but had a let off ten minutes before the interval when Doughboys skipper Craig Norman headed against the post from a Jonathan Mitchell cross. The home side made the breakthrough two minutes into the second half. James Daldy was brought down in the box, Norman's spot kick was saved by Star goalkeeper Simon Ward only for recent recruit Mitchell to pounce and slam home the loose ball to give the Doughboys all three points.
