Tuesday, 29 November 2005

Deeping took a break from their league struggles but found no respite in cup football as they were overwhelmed by higher grade Barton in the second half. Jamie Gray's 16th minute opener for Barton was cancelled out by a 44th minute equaliser, set up by Mark Lovelace for Jarrod Smith on his home debut for Rangers. Once Gray had restored Rovers' lead after 59 minutes the visitors ran away with the tie. Paul Barnes added a 63rd minute third and late on the tally was completed by an 87th minute Barnes effort and Gray's hat trick goal in the final minute. Deeping striker Lovas Laszlo was sent off in stoppage time along with the visiting goalkeeper.
