Northampton Spencer  2    Stewarts & Lloyds Corby  1

Saturday, 26 November 2005

The Millers bounced back from a defeat by Bourne seven days earlier to complete a double over Stewarts & Lloyds and make it five wins out of six. Scott Coleman's 17th goal of the season from an Adam Wigley pass gave Spencer an eighth minute advantage, but two minutes later they were pegged back by a Chris Caswell reply from close range after Michael Byrne and Dom Johnson opened up the Spencer defence. The woodwork denied Darren Frost on the quarter hour before Jerry Moss scored the decisive goal for the Millers after 22 minutes, converting a free kick to the back post. S&L keeper Richard Lavin made fine saves from Frost and a 30 yard effort from Ross Harris. The win lifts Spencer to third place while S&L suffered a sixth defeat in a row.
