Whitworths  4    Daventry Town  1

Saturday, 05 November 2005

Division One pacesetters Whitworths extended their unbeaten run to six games with this success. James Westley opened the scoring for the Flourmen on the half hour with a well taken effort, and they went further ahead twenty minutes into the second half through Lee Purser's header. With ten minutes remaining Dave Lancaster put Daventry back in the match, but within two minutes Westley had claimed his second goal to restore Whitworths' two goal margin. The final score became more emphatic still when top scorer Ben Holley made it four after 88 minutes, racing clear of the visiting defence to score.
