Peterborough Northern Star  2    Burton Park Wanderers  2

Saturday, 29 October 2005

Star seem unable to transfer the form that has brought them some good wins in cup football to the pursuit of league points, and they twice had to battle back to share the spoils with fellow strugglers Burton Park. Craig Townsend opened the scoring for Burton Park with a fine individual effort after 21 minutes with Ian Fovargue equalising for Star after 52 minutes with a header. The visitors looked set for victory when Andy Lambert restored their lead after 80 minutes, but four minutes later Darren Paling spared Star's blushes with a second equaliser. Burton's new recruit Liam Fox enjoyed a stunning debut between the posts with a series of fine saves defying the home attack.
