In the light of the Motormen's recent form this has to go down as a surprise. Mark Drake gave Fords the lead twelve minutes in, only for Ian Brown to level for the Northern Counties East high flyers in the dying seconds of the first half. Ten minutes into the second half Chris Evans scored the decisive goal to take the Motormen into Round Two.
